Presentation of research findings - Substance Use and Neurodiversity
27 Feb 2025

Professor Catherine Comisky and Dr Dave McDonagh, TCD, present the research report findings on Substance Use and Neurodiversity at a Citywide seminar for addiction services in Wynn’s Hotel, Dublin. The aim of the study was to provide up-to-date estimates of the prevalence of neurodiversity among people accessing addiction services in Ireland and internationally, and to identify the risk and protective factors to inform appropriate service responses. The research was conducted by a team from Trinity College Dublin’s School of Nursing and Midwifery led by Professor Catherine Comiskey. The research was commissioned by Citywide because Community Drugs Projects had recognised a need for support to develop better service delivery for people who were neurodivergent.
