D.R.O.P is a community-based agency housing three projects, each of which addresses a distinct area of addiction-related work.

1. DROP's Drug Education Officer and Development Worker initiate and support the range of LDTF-funded services to tackle addiction in the community.

2. DROP's Rehabilitation Services provide:

  • a structured rehabilitation Day Programme for people who are committed to overcoming their opiate addiction
  • an evening-time Cocaine & Polydrug Service
  • daily appointment-based services of counselling, aftercare, advice, advocacy and support for people affected by their own, or a loved one's, addictions
  • A facilitated Drug Free group for ex-drug users.

3. DROP's Community Employment Scheme has two elements:
- the internal morning programme (above) supports people in recovery.
- the external outreach scheme supports people whose lives have been affected by addiction by employing them within host agencies that are themselves tackling various psycho-socio-economic effects of addiction.

These three projects work together, sharing information, resources and purpose to create a holistic, synergistic intervention
- Educating to prevent addiction and developing response services.
- Rehabilitating drug users and supporting their reintegration.
- Building inclusion by supporting people back into work.
- Building capacity in agencies promoting regeneration and recovery.
