Minister Carey responds to Citywide...

Following the Citywide press release highlighting the need for a Minister with sole responsibility for the National Drug Strategy, Citywide received a letter from Minister Pat Carey confirming that his "appointment as a Minister with direct responsibility in this area will facilitate the implementation of the Strategy."

We appreciate the response and in particular Minister Carey's acknowledgement "of the valuable work done by Citywide and the community sector in general" and his assurance that he will "approach the task of implementing the National Drugs Strategy in the Spirit of partnership across all sectors." Citywide has sought a meeting with Minister Carey to discuss how we can work in partnership for the full implementation of the National Drugs Strategy.
