IDU Harm Reduction Strategies (½ day workshop)

This workshop is designed to enable participants:
- To recognise why people inject
- Gain an understanding of the possible dangers and risks involved with injecting drug use
- Identify harm reduction measures and safer injecting methods
Contents will include:
- Injecting: -
- Why Inject
- Injecting technique
- Injecting sites
- Health Risks: -
- Blood borne viruses
- Fungal and bacterial infections
- Vein and tissue damage, associated with IV use.
- Injecting equipment/paraphernalia.
All of the above will be covered using input and discussion.
