The Alcohol and Drug Research Unit in the Health Research Board is looking for project partners

29 Sep 2008

The Alcohol and Drug Research Unit (ADRU) in the Health Research Board (HRB) are developing a pilot project aimed at implementing evidence-based practice in the field of drug prevention and education.

We are looking to identify a number of potential partners that may be interested in participating in this work.

Initially, we are seeking to identify drug prevention and education interventions that have the following objectives explicitly stated in their profile;
- Prevention of substance misuse
- Delay the onset of substance misuse
- Reduce the harms associated with substance misuse

Preferably the interventions should be operating in either the LDTFs or the RDTFs and have some interest in learning more about how to implement evidence-based practices in their work.

If you know of any such interventions, you might contact Martin Keane in ADRU with the name of the intervention and if possible a contact name and number.
