CityWide Drugs Crisis Campaign works to promote and support a community development approach to the drugs problem - this means involving the people who are most affected by the problem in dealing with the problem - drug users, their families and communities. We are currently recruiting a: Regional Community Support Worker

Regional Drug Task Forces (RDTF's) were set up to research, develop and implement co-ordinated responses to drug misuse in their region. Each RDTF includes members of statutory and voluntary services and community representatives.

Primary Purpose of this Position
The role of the Regional Community Support Worker will be to provide support to RDTF community reps and to help develop the establishment of regional community networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To organise and facilitate meetings of the RDTF community reps network at national level.
  • To work with the RDTF community representatives and Development Workers in establishing regional networks and to organise and facilitate meetings of these networks
  • To develop appropriate supports for the RDTF community reps.
  • To facilitate the roll out of the Community Reps Training Course to the RDTF regional reps.
  • To facilitate the exchange of good practice between LDTF community reps and RDTF community reps e.g. on community based responses to drugs.
  • To facilitate the ongoing communication between the RDTF community rep on the NDST and the RDTF community reps and to provide administrative support for that ongoing communication.

The position, although based in the offices of Citywide Drugs Crisis Campaign, will involve travel.Download a Job Description
